Acupuncture
How Does Acupuncture Help with Injuries?
Acupuncture works by stimulating circulation, reducing inflammation, and improving range of motion. This helps to speed up the body’s natural healing process. It can also be used to boost athletic performance, improve energy levels, support relaxation, and reduce stress and anxiety. Many clients find that acupuncture not only helps with physical recovery but also leaves them feeling calmer and more balanced.
What Can I Expect During a Session?
Acupuncture needles are very fine - much thinner than those used for injections - and are placed either around the affected area or along meridian channels. They usually stay in place for around 20 minutes.
Most people find the treatment comfortable and pain-free. You may feel a slight cramping or dull ache if a muscle is particularly sore, but many people don’t feel anything at all. Every session ends with some gentle remedial massage to support your recovery.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
It depends entirely on your individual condition. Most people feel a noticeable difference after just one session, but longer-term or chronic issues may require a course of treatment.
As a general guide:
-
For acute injuries, I usually recommend weekly sessions for around 6 weeks.
-
For chronic pain or maintenance, one session per month often works well to prevent flare-ups and support ongoing recovery.
